Ako Hiko Film Festival!

Hi bloggers, its me Taanish from Room 21.

Today is the day!

Me, Mohamed, Alyan, Khalid and Riley made a film! And today is the day that we post our FILM!

Every Kauri student made a film.

We worked so hard to edit and make the film but we had so much fun.

I enjoyed it.

Ok so its time to talk about the film.

So at first we did not know what film we should make like what should it be about and we finally came up with a suggestion and we picked dodge ball finals.

So watch the film!

I have a question did you make a film?

Good day, Taanish.

Novel Ponder 2

Hi Bloggers, i’m Taanish from Room 21.

If I was stranded in the amazon jungle.

I would bring:

  1. Tent – for shelter
  2. Med kit – just in case I get a cut or something
  3. Bug spray – just in case there is some mosquito
  4. Clothes – just in case my clothes get dirty
  5. Water filter – So if I bring water it won’t last long so with a water filter you can drink more water.
  6. inflatable boat – to cross the river

The reason why I did not pick food is because there is food in the amazon jungle like bananas.

I have a question what would 6 things you would bring for the amazon jungle?

Good day, Taanish.

Would you rather ponder 1

Hi, bloggers its me Taanish from Room 21.

I would see 10 years into the future.

Because if you see 10 years then you can see what your doing and what if you make a mistake then you can say the right thing again.

Plus i’m 10 years old and I would be 20 years old in 10 years.

That means i’m probably going to be in university.

I have a question what ability do you want to do? see 10 minutes? or see 10 years?

Good day, Taanish.

Novel Ponder 1

Hi, Bloggers its me Taanish from Room 21.

I would go to the north pole because there are polar bears aka Pola Bola’s and there so fluffy.

I want to see them and feed them fish.

I also want to see a baby Pola Bola and hug him.

I have a question where would you explore?

Good day, Taanish ʕ•ᴥ•ʔっ

How Do Bees Make Honey?

Hi bloggers i’m Taanish from Room 21.

Have you remembered when we made beeswax wraps? Yeah well today I will show How Do Bees Make Honey.

So first the female worker bees have to go “forage” a flower while the male bees protect the hive from any intruders. When they find the flower they use a long tongue called a “proboscis” that can slide down into the flower and suck the nectar out like a straw. They store the honey in their stomach called a crop.

Finally, the foragers come back to the hive and do the “tremble dance” and the “tremble dance” makes the nectar thicker and stickier.

After doing the “tremble dance” they “vomit” the nectar to the other bees and that bee will do the tremble dance again and they repeat the process of doing the tremble dance and inside their crop the nectar turns to the sticky stuff called honey. Then they flap their wings to make the honey dry. Then they take the honey to the honeycomb and they store the honey inside. They use beeswax to seal the honey inside to protect it.

So that’s how bees make honey.

Oh yeah also your eating bees vomit because remember they vomit the nectar to the other bees.

I have a question so now do you like honey or do you hate honey because of the terrible vomit? Tell me why?

As always Good day, Taanish.

Maritime Museum

Hi bloggers i’m Taanish from Room 21.

TODAY I WENT ON A TRIP TO THE Maritime Museum.

I WAS SO EXCITED!

So first when we got there we were greeted by Leo our guide and then we ate morning tea.

So after morning tea Leo organised the plan and we first went sailing!

EVEN THE CAPTAIN LET ME STEER THE BOAT! and nobody else did.

The boat was called “Ted Ashby”

“Ted Ashby” was a ship for supplies and other stuff that they used in the 1990’s.

We saw a budgee jumper and he went down so fast!

Then Leo taught us about the Polynesian explorers! and showed us around.

Then when we got back we ate lunch.

After we ate lunch we regroup to our groups and then we went to explore, we saw a lot of model ships IT WAS SO COOL!

WE EVEN PLAYED VIDEO GAMES THERE!

The video game is a boat simulator is so COOL!

Then after we regrouped with the class and then we got on the bus said “Good Bye!” to Leo and we went back to school we got back at around 2:20.

I have a question have you ever went to the Maritime Museum?

And as always Good day, Taanish.

Beeswax Wraps

Hi, bloggers i’m Taanish from Room 21.

I have been doing bees wax wraps.

Let me explain what bees wax wraps, so bees wax wraps are wraps that are not made out of plastic which means its helping climate to go down.

So me and my buddy Mohamed made beeswax wraps in the hall with a teacher but not any kind of teacher is a bees wax teacher (Nah I actually don’t know how to call the teacher)

I have a question have you made a bees wax wrap before?

let me know.

Best, Taanish.

My Creative Writing 2023

Hi, Bloggers i’m Taanish from Room 21.

I made a Creative Writing about my favourite battleship called Yamato (ヤマト)

It is a Japanese battleship that was fought in WW2 but sadly it sunk by US Air Crafts.

The story title is: The story of the Yamato (ヤマト)

So here is the story:

The story of the yamato (ヤマト)

So when I first looked at WW2 Battleships I saw a lot of battleships that looked cool. And I saw a ship that looked interesting and it’s called  ヤマト (Yamato) so I researched about what happened to it. After the bombardment of Japanese zeros on pearl harbour in the Hawaiian islands. The Americans wanted revenge after what the Japanese did to pearl harbour. There was a new area they had to take over and that area is the midway islands. The Japanese made a super battleship! The Americans have to destroy the battleship to conquer the islands. So they set a american fleet which contains 18 battleships, 27 cruisers, 177 destroyers, 39 aircraft carriers, 11 fleet carriers, 6 light carriers and 22 escort carriers and a various support and troop transport. The Yamato sank rapidly, losing an estimated 3,055 of her 3,332 crew, including fleet commander Vice-Admiral Seiichi Itō. The few survivors were recovered by the four surviving destroyers, which withdrew to Japan. From the first attack at 12:37 to the explosion at 2:23, Yamato was hit by at least 11 torpedoes and 6 bombs. After the attack the US forces left the Yamato to sink. The Yamato sunk at 7 April 1945.

So that’s how the largest battleship sank in the deep blue ocean.

I got a new favourite battleship now its called King George the 5 or King George V.

So that’s the story.

I have a question have you learned about history?

Best, Taanish.

Non-fiction vs fiction

Hi, Bloggers i’m Taanish from Room 21.

I did a slide about non-fiction vs fiction.

If you don’t know about non-fiction or fiction.

Fiction is where something is made up like a book, like have you seen fairy tales in a book yeah that’s it.

Non-fiction is something real like a book that has facts about real stuff.

I had to read about books in the Kauri team site if you go to the reading folder you will see it.

I have a question what is your favourite book?

Best, Taanish.
